Agave Americana 'Century plant' This Agave is one of the tougher varieties. With large broad leaves that can reach up to 1m in length and 30cm wide. There are spines down the edge of the leaf and have a terminal spine that very sharp. Not fully hardy but will tolerate some cold temperatures if kept dry. Great specimen plant for a free draining sunny position, best kept away from paths. Height: 1.5m Plant Class: grow as Perennial Will Grow in Full Sun Can be grown in Pots or Tubs End Use: Borders, Dot Plant, Cut Flower When to Sow (indoors): April - July 2-12 weeks at 18-20°C. and keep moist but not wet. Erratic germinator When to Plant (outdoors): May Onwards Sow seed in trays and cover lightly with vermiculite or seed compost. Prick out in to small pots as soon as the seedling are large enough to handle grow on at 14°C |
