This most unusual and drought-tolerant plant bears fragrant yellow flowers in late spring and early summer leading to stems of curious spherical seed pods which make intriguing specimens for dried flower enthusiasts. In the garden these eventually fall apart to release the seeds.

Sow Dec - March in a cool place with no heat onto a good soil-based compost. Cover the seeds with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. These seeds can be very slow indeed to germinate, and as a rule they wait for spring before emerging whenever they are sown. Please be very patient, and do not discard the seed tray, no matter how long it takes for germination to occur.

Always use a good quality seed compost.
