Introduced in 2014. Burpee’s largest fruited tomato is a 'world-beater'. Indeterminate plants bear massive 700g to 1Kg fruit with larger fruits being recorded by specialist growers. The fruit also have excellent flavour and a single fruit could be sliced to feed an average sized family of four.

Sow from February onwards in pots. Will need heat to germinate. Plant out in greenhouse from May onwards or outdoors after hardening off in June. Do not allow the plants to get too cold as they will develop a purple tint and growth will slow down.

When to Sow (indoors): February onwards
Sow seeds underglass 0.5cm(1/4 in) deep in pots or trays of good seed compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite or fine compost. Place containers in a propagator at a temperature of 18–21°C
Plant in Full Sun then Shade later
Prick out in to small pots as soon as the seedling are large enough to handle

Always use a good quality seed compost
